OUR PROGRAM
DETAILED ITINERARY
Madrid - Luxor
At the agreed time, we’ll take a direct flight from Madrid-Barajas Airport to Luxor. Upon arrival, our Spanish-speaking representative will be waiting to assist us with the visa formalities and luggage collection.
A private transfer will take us to the cruise ship, where we’ll meet our guide, receive our room keys, and enjoy dinner on board.

Luxor - Esna - Edfu
Today, we’ll explore the wonderful city of Luxor, ancient Thebes, which served as the capital during Egypt’s Middle and New Kingdoms. In the morning, we’ll visit the West Bank to discover the majestic Theban Necropolis.
We’ll explore the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic statues representing Pharaoh Amenhotep III. After lunch, we’ll visit Luxor and Karnak Temples, two of the most spectacular sites in Egypt.
We’ll then continue sailing towards Esna and finally Edfu.

Edfu - Kom Ombo - Aswan
In the morning, we’ll visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god and the second-largest temple in Egypt.
We’ll then continue sailing to Kom Ombo, where we’ll visit the temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world, while the northern half was dedicated to Haroeris, “Horus the Elder,” regarded as the initiator of Egyptian civilization and the god of the sky, war, and hunting.
After our stop in Kom Ombo, we’ll continue sailing to Aswan.

Aswan - Abu Simbel - Aswan
We’ll depart early in the morning by bus to visit Abu Simbel Temple, located near the Sudanese border. After the visit, we’ll return to Aswan for lunch on board our cruise ship.
In the afternoon, we’ll visit Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. To reach the temple, we’ll enjoy a fun ride on a felucca, a traditional Nile sailing boat.
Afterwards, we’ll return to the cruise ship and spend the night in Aswan.

OPTIONAL EXTRA EXCURSION: VISIT TO A NUBIAN VILLAGE
Aswan - Cairo
After breakfast, we’ll disembark from the cruise ship. At the scheduled time, our Spanish-speaking representative will meet us and transfer us to the airport for our flight to Cairo.
Upon arrival in Cairo, we’ll receive assistance and be transferred to our hotel. After lunch, we’ll have the afternoon free to relax or enjoy an optional activity of interest outside the itinerary.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner at a restaurant by the Nile.

El Cairo - Pyramids/Museum
After breakfast, our guide will meet us at the hotel and take us to explore the Giza Plateau and its magnificent pyramids: the Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure.
We’ll then visit the Valley Temple of Khafre and the Great Sphinx nearby. Afterwards, we’ll explore the Egyptian Museum to learn more about Egypt’s fascinating history.
At the end of the excursion, we’ll enjoy a delicious traditional Egyptian lunch before returning to the hotel for a free afternoon.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy a special Bedouin dinner.

Cairo
We’ll have a free day in Cairo, which you can use to enjoy some of the optional activities available in the city and its surroundings that are not included in the itinerary.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy our farewell dinner with views of the Pyramids and the Sphinx, accompanied by a spectacular Sound and Light Show.

The Egypt experience includes accommodation in double rooms with private bathrooms, both during the Nile River cruise and at the hotels in Cairo.
Each night, you’ll share a room with one other person from the group (a maximum of two people per room).
If you’re traveling as a couple, family, or with friends, you can choose who you share with.
If you’re traveling solo, we’ll assign you a roommate of the same sex, who will share with you throughout the trip.
Please remember that you’ll always share your room with another member of the group.
If you’d prefer a single room, we can provide a quote for the applicable supplement, subject to availability.
To fully enjoy the Egypt experience, no special physical preparation is required.
This is a cultural and exploration-focused trip, ideal for people in good general health who are comfortable walking during daily visits.
Throughout the journey, we’ll take short walks through temples, museums, and archaeological sites, often under the sun. We therefore recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water to stay hydrated.
The trip is not physically demanding, but it does require an active, curious, and open-minded attitude to make the most of every visit and each moment sailing along the Nile.
The most important preparation is mental: come with a traveler’s spirit, a desire to discover, and an eagerness to enjoy a fascinating culture.

Yes. For our Egypt experience, international flights from Madrid to Egypt and back are included in the package.
The necessary domestic flights within the itinerary, such as the flight from Aswan to Cairo, are also included, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free journey.
You’ll only need to arrange your travel to Madrid, the group’s departure point, where you’ll meet the other travelers.
From there, Zococamino takes care of everything: flights, transfers, the cruise, accommodation, and excursions.
Our goal is for you to focus on enjoying the experience. From the moment the plane takes off, your Zococamino adventure begins.
For our Egypt trip, comfort and practicality are key.
You can bring one suitcase weighing up to 20 kg and one piece of hand luggage or a small backpack for daily excursions.
During the Nile River cruise and visits to temples and museums, we recommend carrying only the essentials, as temperatures are usually warm and the pace of the trip is relaxed but active.
Avoid bringing unnecessary luggage. You won’t need:

A hairdryer or hair straighteners
Books or bulky items
Jewelry or valuable accessories

Our Egypt experience is carefully designed to ensure you can enjoy your trip without worries, with flights from Madrid, accommodation, a Nile River cruise, transfers, guided tours, and many meals included.
However, there are certain personal and optional expenses that are not included and are important to keep in mind:

Egypt can have a hot, dry climate, so we recommend staying well hydrated, using sunscreen, and bringing your personal medication (with a prescription, if necessary).

The best time to travel to Egypt is between March and April, as well as in September.
During these months, the weather is milder and more pleasant, making it ideal for exploring temples and museums and sailing along the Nile without the intense summer heat.

In September, temperatures begin to drop, the landscapes become more peaceful, and conditions remain perfect for sightseeing and outdoor excursions.
