Madrid - Cádiz
Early in the morning, a private bus will take us from the hotel to Atocha Station, where we’ll board the high-speed train to Cádiz.
Cádiz evokes the feeling of iconic destinations such as Cartagena de Indias: living history, intense light, and a constant connection with the sea. Yet Cádiz offers a more intimate, authentic, and refined experience, away from the crowds.
A unique destination that provides the perfect starting point for an exclusive journey to El Rocío.

Cádiz - Puerto Real
This first stage takes you through marshlands, salt flats, and wide-open landscapes, offering a constant connection with the authentic nature of southern Spain.
The route continues towards San Fernando, a town steeped in maritime tradition, before reaching Puerto Real and passing through areas of great ecological value within the Bay of Cádiz Natural Park.
A gentle and evocative stage, where the light, endless horizons, and Atlantic breeze create a peaceful and exclusive experience — the perfect way to begin the journey to El Rocío.

Puerto Real - Puerto Sta. María
From Puerto Real, the journey continues through open landscapes and unique ecosystems, where marshlands and pine forests accompany you at every step in an atmosphere of calm and authenticity.
The route ventures into the heart of the Bay of Cádiz Natural Park, offering an immersive experience surrounded by nature, with water, wildlife, and Atlantic light always present.
Arriving in El Puerto de Santa María brings a change of pace: a stately town with a strong winemaking tradition, elegant wineries, and a sophisticated atmosphere shaped by its connection to the sea.
A well-balanced stage combining nature, culture, and the Andalusian way of life, adding depth and character to the journey.

Puerto Sta. María - Rota
The day begins amid the historic elegance of El Puerto de Santa María, leaving behind its centuries-old wineries and maritime heritage as the route heads into landscapes where the Atlantic once again takes center stage.
The trail winds along coastal paths, through pine forests, and across open stretches with sea views, offering a dynamic and bright experience where the Atlantic breeze and wide-open landscapes accompany every step.
Arriving in Rota brings a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere, with its maritime character, long sandy beaches, and renowned cuisine inviting you to slow down and enjoy the moment.

Rota - Chipiona
The stage begins in Rota, following the Atlantic coastline to Chipiona, the birthplace of singer Rocío Jurado, a bright coastal town dominated by its iconic lighthouse, the tallest in Spain.
From here, the journey becomes even more evocative, continuing along endless beaches, dunes, and open landscapes where the ocean sets the pace. The light, the sound of the sea, and the vast horizon create a deeply immersive and sensory experience.

Chipiona - Sanlúcar
A stage that combines nature and culture at their finest. Walkers make their way along endless beaches, dunes, and pine forests, enjoying the serenity of the Atlantic. Charming small towns set the pace of the journey, offering authentic local experiences. Arriving in Sanlúcar de Barrameda means discovering its renowned cuisine, historic wineries, and privileged views over the Guadalquivir River, bringing the stage to a close with a unique sense of well-being and discovery.
In the afternoon, the journey takes on a premium touch with a visit to La Gitana winery in Sanlúcar, where you’ll discover the region’s winemaking tradition, taste unique wines, and learn about the history that connects these lands with the Guadalquivir River and the Atlantic.
It’s one of those special touches that turns the journey into much more than a walk — a complete sensory experience.

Sanlúcar - El Rocío
“From the marshlands to the endless horizon, crossing by boat and cycling along the beach, El Rocío awaits as the reward at the end of the adventure.”
A unique experience combining adventure, nature, and photography.
Walkers cross the Guadalquivir River by ferry, venturing into the heart of Doñana National Park. Along the way, a photographic safari offers the chance to observe birds, deer, and the protected ecosystem that is one of Andalusia’s most iconic natural treasures.
The stage culminates in the mystical village of El Rocío, with its sandy streets, rich history, and authentic spirit, bringing an unforgettable day of emotions and natural discoveries to a close.

El Rocío - Seville
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll take a private bus to Seville’s high-speed train station.
We invite you to spend the day exploring Seville at your own pace, whether by taking a tour or visiting one of the city’s many museums.
From Seville, you can choose to travel on to other destinations in Andalusia, such as Málaga or Granada, or return to Madrid.

GALLERY OF MEMORIES
If you’re traveling as a couple, with family, or with friends, you can choose your roommate. If you’re traveling solo, we’ll pair you with someone of the same sex, who will share your room throughout the trip.
Please note that you’ll only share your room with one other member of the group. If you’d prefer a single room, we can discuss the additional cost.
Andalusia is a very popular destination, so single rooms may not be available in some of the towns along the route.
You’re welcome to invite your companion to join the trip. They’ll then be able to use our support vehicle whenever they need to rest or skip a section of the route. Our team will be there to assist and guide them, while you can enjoy the journey at your own pace.
Please note that this option is available with our Premium experience (Tailor-Made, price on request). If you’d like to discuss a Premium trip and receive a personalized quote, please contact us at info@zococamino.com.
You don’t need to be an experienced hiker. The route features balanced stages and accessible terrain, so a little preparation beforehand should be enough. Nevertheless, we recommend starting to walk regularly a few weeks before the trip to help your body adapt to the effort and make the most of the experience.
The most important preparation is mental. Be ready to enjoy a different kind of experience, share the journey with others, and discover the atmosphere of southern Spain, its nature, gastronomy, and traditions.
Each day, we’ll cover an average of approximately 10 to 25 kilometers, crossing rural trails, marshlands, pine forests, beaches, and open landscapes. The schedule and pace will be different from your usual routine, and we may encounter heat, wind, or sandy paths, all of which are perfectly normal for this type of adventure.
The itinerary has been designed with comfortable, well-balanced stages so that anyone with a basic level of fitness can complete the route and enjoy the Camino del Rocío with confidence and peace of mind.
If you’re traveling to Spain with additional luggage, you can leave it in storage at the starting hotel or at another location we’ll specify before the Camino begins.
To make your journey more comfortable, we recommend traveling light and bringing only what you need. You won’t need jewelry, formal or party clothes, an iron or hairdryer, towels, a sleeping bag, a large umbrella, or unnecessary everyday items.
Remember that we’ll be in Andalusia, where the weather is usually warm and sunny. However, temperatures can be cooler in the early morning and late afternoon, especially in spring and autumn.
Suggested packing list:
3 or 4 sports or breathable T-shirts.
2 or 3 comfortable walking trousers (long or convertible).
2 comfortable outfits for relaxing or exploring after each stage.
Comfortable hiking boots or shoes, preferably well broken in.
A second pair of shoes for relaxing.
Flip-flops for the shower or pool.
Technical or breathable socks.
Enough underwear for the duration of the trip.
Pajamas or sleepwear.
A sweatshirt, fleece, or lightweight jacket.
A lightweight rain jacket or windbreaker.
A cap or hat and sunglasses.
A small backpack for carrying water, documents, and personal items during walks.
A reusable water bottle or flask.
Basic toiletries.
High-protection sunscreen.
Personal identification and travel documents.
Any regular medication (if applicable, remember to bring your prescription).
A universal travel adapter if you’re coming from outside Europe.
For certain dates, especially in spring and autumn, it may also be useful to bring:
A lightweight waterproof jacket.
An extra warm layer for cooler mornings and evenings.
A buff or scarf to protect yourself from the wind or sun.
Our main advice is simple: travel light, bring comfortable footwear, and get ready to enjoy walks through marshlands, pine forests, beaches, and some of the most authentic landscapes in Andalusia.
Please note that lunch and accommodation on Day 9 are not included, as our services end when we arrive in Seville. From there, you can continue exploring Andalusia or return to your destination.
You may wish to bring some extra money for:
Meals and drinks not specified in the itinerary.
Upgrading to a single room.
Additional luggage beyond the allowance (one suitcase or backpack per person).
Visiting monuments or attractions not included in the itinerary.
Buying souvenirs or local products.
A parent or family member must be responsible for their care at all times and must never leave them unattended, even if the child chooses to rest in the support vehicle.
If your child has little cycling experience or lacks confidence on a bike, we recommend choosing the Camino del Rocío on Foot instead.
If your group has fewer than 12 people, we can fill the remaining spots with other travelers until we reach the usual group size.
Your group will need to travel on one of the scheduled departure dates for the Camino del Rocío on Foot.
If you’d prefer to travel on different dates or enjoy a completely private experience, whether as a couple, with your family, or with a smaller group, you can also request a quote for our Premium option.
The Camino de Santiago is a historic pilgrimage with a stronger spiritual dimension, a traditional structure, and official recognition that culminates in the arrival at Santiago de Compostela Cathedral. Many people undertake this journey as a personal challenge, for reflection, or as a search for inner meaning.
The Camino del Rocío, on the other hand, is a more cultural, social, and festive experience, deeply rooted in Andalusian traditions. Although it ends at a place of great religious significance, its essence lies in enjoying southern Spain: its landscapes, gastronomy, music, atmosphere, and the shared experience of traveling as a group. It is a more accessible journey, with generally gentler stages and a more relaxed atmosphere.
Both experiences take place in groups on scheduled departure dates, following a carefully organized itinerary designed to ensure safety, comfort, and a memorable journey.
We also offer the option of designing either route as a private or tailor-made experience. If you’d like to travel as a couple, with your family, or with your own group, we can adapt the number of days, the pace of the journey, and the activities to suit your needs.
These personalized experiences are available on request, as the price may vary depending on the dates, accommodation, activities, and number of participants.
If you’d like to plan your own tailor-made Camino de Santiago or Camino del Rocío with us, please contact us at info@zococamino.com.
Andalusia enjoys plenty of sunshine and higher temperatures than many other parts of Spain, especially in summer. That’s why our departures take place mainly in spring and autumn, when the weather is more pleasant and you can better enjoy the landscapes, walks, and cycling stages.
Between March and April, spring brings Andalusia to life. The countryside turns green, temperatures are mild, and the region takes on a special atmosphere, with traditional celebrations and nature at its finest.
From June to August, Andalusia comes alive with summer festivities. However, temperatures can be very high, especially inland. For this reason, we don’t schedule trips during these months, as our goal is to ensure everyone enjoys a comfortable and rewarding experience.
October and November are ideal months to explore the Camino del Rocío at a more relaxed pace. Temperatures become milder again, the landscapes change color, and the atmosphere is more peaceful — perfect for traveling as a group and discovering Andalusia at your leisure.
Contact us, and a member of our team will address your concerns and questions, ensuring that you have the best experience possible.
